- Young Emirati karting ace urges children to never give up on their dreams
- Rashid to use karting exploits to highlight the cause of special needs children
Rashid Al Dhaheri, the young Emirati motor racing prodigy, took his proven track record in karting to a different level when he partnered with Zayed Higher Organization for Humanitarian Care & Special Needs in Abu Dhabi earlier this month to take part in the centre’s first Sports Festival.
Using his success and development in motor sports as an impetus, Rashid’s parents decided that he can use his role to help motivate children with special needs, while highlighting their cause through his racing career and the media exposure he obtains along the way.
Speaking to the children at the start of the Sports Festival, Rashid gave them a message of hope and encouraged them to follow their dreams and never giving up.
Rashid said during the occasion, “I never gave up following my dream despite the challenges. I started karting at the young age of five, won many races here in the UAE. Now I am racing in Italy where the competition is of the highest level. Here I can learn more and develop faster.”
“I am very happy to be here with you today, to be part of your organization and am very much looking forward to doing sports together with you and to have fun with you. Never give up dreaming! Dreams can come true!” added Rashid.
Rashid also thanked HE Mr. Mohamed Al Hameli, the Organization’s Deputy-Chairman and Secretary-General, for his warm welcome and for providing him the opportunity to partner with the children.
Rashid’s father, Ali Al Dhaheri said: “Rashid takes this new role of motivating children of special needs very seriously and he is determined to support their cause and attract support for them in any way he could.”
“I am really happy and proud to see our young boy caring and playing with other less fortunate children, while inspiring them to realize their dreams as well,” added Al Dhaheri senior.
