Rashid Al Dhaheri’s Italian journey of karting adventures continued with Round 5 of the Parolin Academy Championship in Siena, on 5-6 July, where once again he impressed with his speed and constantly improving racecraft.
The six year old Abu Dhabi schoolboy, popularly known as ‘Little Alonso’, featured at the sharp end of proceedings all weekend, invariably appearing on the top part of the timing sheets in just about every session he completed in the Pre-Agonistica category.
On Saturday he finished the training session in fourth place overall, in the field which included 8 to 10 year old drivers from the Baby Academy.
Rashid started from pole position in Sunday’s race simulation and ended the race second overall, setting the fastest lap in the process.
A spokesperson for Rashid said: “Rashid had another great weekend of learning, with many different elements to absorb. Once again he showed his progress by racing at the front. Congratulations again to little Alonso!”
Rashid’s next karting appointment is scheduled for the weekend of 12-13 July in Ottobiano, Italy.
